The awards are presented by WSIS, coordinated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) of the United Nations, with the aim of recognizing and promoting innovative projects that use ICT to contribute to sustainable development globally.
The second version (V2) of the eMrejesho system has been nominated in the e-Government category (AL C7), among 360 ICT systems that qualified through the selection stage from over 1,000 digital system submissions from various countries around the world.
It is worth noting that the first version of the eMrejesho system previously won the United Nations Public Service Innovation Award in 2024.
Speaking about the nomination, the Communications Manager of the e-Government Authority (e-GA), Subira Kaswaga, said that e-GA recently received notification of the nomination via email from ITU, after the eMrejesho system was selected to compete for the awards.
She explained that the second version of the eMrejesho system (V2) is an upgraded version of the digital platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to collect, analyze, and provide rapid feedback to citizens regarding the services they receive from government institutions and public organizations.
