How to Apply for a PCC

For Applicants Inside Tanzania:

Access the Portal: Visit the official PCC portal https://pcc.tpf.go.tz

Register an Account: Create a user account by providing your personal details, including a valid ID (National Identity Card, Voter's ID, Birth Certificate, or Passport), a valid email address, and phone number.

• Upload Required Documents:
• One passport-sized photograph (480×640 pixels).
• A copy of your National Identity Card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Make Payment: Pay the applicable fee of TZS 10,000 through the provided payment methods.
• Submit Application: After completing the form and payment, submit your application through the portal.

For Applicants Outside Tanzania:

Prepare Required Documents:

• One passport-sized photograph.
• A copy of your Passport.
• Certified fingerprints taken at a local police station.
• A written request explaining the need for the PCC.
• Details of your last residence in Tanzania (district, town, street, house number).

Make Payment: Pay the applicable fee of USD 50. Submission: Send the documents to:

• Officer-in-Charge, Forensic Bureau, P.O. Box 9094, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

For Zanzibar residents, applications should be sent to:

• Officer-in-Charge, Criminal Investigation Department, Police Headquarters, P.O. Box 237, Unguja, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Tracking Your Application

• You can track the status of your application by visiting the tracking page on the PCC portal. Enter your control number (payment reference number) to view the current status of your application.

• Processing Time: The standard processing time for a PCC is 2 to 4 weeks, though it may vary based on application volume and completeness of submitted documents.

• Validity: The PCC is typically valid for 3 to 6 months, depending on the requirements of the requesting authority.

• Attestation: For international use, the PCC may need to be attested or apostilled, depending on the destination country's requirements.
